Magic is produced via incantation in this RP. The longer the incantation, the more powerful the spell. The stronger the mage, the faster they can chant and use more powerful spells.
Here is an example of a basic incantation used by brand new mages to use a basic fireball attack: "O Fire, alight my path and incinerate my enemies."
A longer, and more powerful incantation would be the following: "O Fire, alight my path and incinerate my enemies. Bring them to the gates of the netherworld and let them bask in your heat for all eternity."
These two incantations are just samples and are not set in stone for the incantations you might want to create if you are playing as a mage character. Feel free to create your own incantations, but keep them simple to start with something similar to the first example so that we know that you have room to grow as a character.

Clinton says she is still on track for State Department exit
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Hillary Clinton says she still intends to step down as U.S. secretary of state sometime around January's presidential inauguration, dispelling speculation over reports she might opt to stay in the post amid numerous diplomatic crises if President Barack Obama wins re-election.
"It's really still my same time-frame," Clinton told the Washington Post in an interview published on Friday, repeating her plan to step down after one term even if voters on November 6 give Obama another four years in office.
"I'm aiming to leave shortly after the inauguration; that's my plan. But I haven't been able to sit down and talk to the president yet because he's trying to win an election, which hopefully will be finalized shortly. And then we will talk through how to do the transition."
Clinton's future plans were questioned again this week after the Wall Street Journal reported that she had left the door open to delaying her departure.
Clinton - often mentioned as a potential Democratic presidential candidate in 2016 - repeatedly has said she would serve only one term at the State Department, and a senior Clinton aide cautioned reporters against reading much into any suggestions she had changed her mind.
Clinton, in her interview, indicated she is unlikely to be persuaded to stay on beyond the immediate transition.
"I'm not really open to staying longer, but I also know that we have to be conscious of the work that has to be done," she told the Post. "And again, I'll have to talk to the president."
Clinton, often cited as one of the most popular members of Obama's cabinet, has said she intends to take time off from public life. If Obama wins re-election, analysts say possible successors include Democratic Senator John Kerry and Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice.
If Republican challenger Mitt Romney wins on November 6, he would pick his own secretary of state.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) ? Texas' dramatically shifting demographics will be the focus Tuesday as attorneys representing about 600 school districts call their first witness in a trial in which the districts are suing the state over how it funds public education.
Demographer Steve Murdock, former director of the U.S. Census Bureau and ex-state demographer of Texas, is expected to testify about the explosion in the state's Hispanic population, which has caused public school enrollment statewide to grow by an average of 80,000 students per year.
Six lawsuits have been filed on behalf of about two-thirds of Texas school districts, which educate about 75 percent of the state's more than 5 million students. They have been rolled into a single case that opened Monday before state District Judge John Dietz in Austin.
Legal battles over school finance are nothing new in Texas: The latest case is the sixth of its kind since 1984.
At issue this time, though, is the Texas Legislature's approval in 2011 of $5.4 billion in cuts to public education and grant programs. The districts are pressing for more funding, saying the cuts forced teacher layoffs and larger class sizes while running so deep that they violated the Texas Constitution's promises to provide efficient, free public schools.
They say the system is now unfair because the cuts came at a time when school enrollments are skyrocketing and teachers are expected to prepare students for new standardized tests that are more difficult.
"The system of school finance, as we see it, is hopelessly broken," said attorney Rick Gray, one of more than a dozen lawyers representing the different parties that have filed lawsuits. "It is not only inadequate, it is irrational, it's unfair and, most importantly, it's unconstitutional."
Gray, who represents more than 400 districts in the suit, said during opening statements Monday that Murdock's testimony will focus on how Texas is becoming majority Hispanic and how its average income is declining.
He said, "I think everyone can agree that education leads to higher earning" but also noted that poor schooling has the reverse effect by ensuring residents are ill-prepared for the workforce and are forced into low-paying jobs.
Gray said that if an education gap that has already begun forming is not corrected by 2050, it could cost the state of Texas $11 billion in tax revenue that it would have otherwise collected on higher wage-earners.
School districts say students from low-income families generally cost more to educate, with many requiring instruction to participate in costly remedial programs outside the classroom.
David Hinojosa, who represents another plaintiff, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, said that 60 percent of Texas students now receive free or reduced-price lunches at school.
The state Attorney General's office argues that because Texas places great emphasis on local control of its school districts, shortcomings are the fault of individual districts ? not the system as a whole.
Texas funded schools beyond the rate of inflation and enrollment growth between 2006 and 2010, and even with the 2011 cuts, districts still need "to show they are spending their money efficiently," Assistant Attorney General Shelly Dahlberg argued in court on Monday.
"Superintendents' wish lists" include items such as iPads for students, and districts offer extracurricular programs including sports that aren't required by the state, she said.
Standardized testing requirements that began last year are being phased in gradually, and passing them won't be an absolute requirement to graduate until at least 2015, Dahlberg said. She also predicted that "almost every single" superintendent eventually called to testify in the case will concede that they expect their students' test scores to continue improving over time ? regardless of funding levels.
"I would suggest that we might have an impending crisis, but today it is not a crisis," Dahlberg said. "And we do not believe the plaintiffs can meet their burden of proof to show that it is."

The Elbert C. Ray eStudio is a studio that offers free tutoring in written, oral, visual and digital communication to students in the College of Engineering.
?We can help students in the quality of the work they produce and the way they professionalize themselves. We can make them better students now and better engineers later,? said Emily Dotson, assistant director of the eStudio.
The eStudio offers free tutoring for engineers in written communication tailored specifically to the technical writing, scientific reports and lab reports these students must master.
It also helps with everything from emails to grant proposals.
Tutors at eStudio, primarily upper-level Honors students from all fields of engineering, are available to help engineering students with their presentations.
?We have rehearsal spaces with white boards, cameras to tape presentations, and well-trained tutors to offer tips and feedback to improve presentations,? said Amber Troxell, acting director of the eStudio.
The eStudio also provides a state-of-the-art digital media lab.
Its sound booth is the same one used by Lady Gaga.
Video-editing software, digital video cameras, green screens, video and audio conversion software and photography equipment are available to all engineering students.
Tutors are trained on all the equipment an expert is always there to help.
The eStudio allows engineering students to check out most of the equipment to help with their projects and presentations.
Flip cameras, professional photography equipment and audio-recording equipment are all available for checkout.
Macs and personal computers are available for checkout for use in the studio only.
Whether used for drop-in tutoring or as part of EGR199, a class which provides a one-on-one, scheduled meeting time between a tutor and a student, eStudio provides an informal, friendly place for ESL students to get assistance with written and oral communication skills.
?This is a great tool for us to improve writing and speaking skills,? said Cedric Lukonga, an ESL senior in mining engineering.
While 80 percent of the services offered at eStudio are for engineering students, 20 percent are for faculty.
?We do workshops on any type of communication issue for engineering faculty and can customize them for the specific needs of the class,? Dotson said.
The eStudio is at Room 108A of the Ralph G. Anderson Building and is open Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.
Engineering students can drop in for tutoring or make an appointment through eStudio?s online scheduling program, available on its website: www.engr.uky.edu/estudio.
